Yersinia enterocolitica: in vitro antimicrobial susceptibility.

چکیده
Using 21 antimicrobial agents, agar dilution susceptibility tests were carried out against 190 strains of Yersinia enterocolitica. Isolates from human, environmental, and animal sources had essentially equal susceptibility patterns.

Antimicrobial susceptibilities of food-isolated strains of Yersinia enterocolitica, Y. intermedia, Y. frederiksenii, and Y. kristensenii.
The in vitro antimicrobial susceptibility of Yersinia enterocolitica and newly related species isolated from foods was examined. Only 4 of 375 isolates displayed resistance to non-ss-lactam antibiotics. MICs of ampicillin and carbenicillin determined by agar dilution with respect to 125 isolates showed the high susceptibility of Y. kristensenii and biovar 3 of Y. enterocolitica to carbenicillin...

متن کاملYersinia enterocolitica: comparative in vitro activities of seven new beta-lactam antibiotics.
Minimum inhibitory concentrations of seven new beta-lactam derivatives were determined against 35 isolates of Yersinia enterocolitica. Ceftizoxime and ceftriaxone were the most active of the antimicrobial agents tested.
متن کاملRole of YadA in resistance to killing of Yersinia enterocolitica by antimicrobial polypeptides of human granulocytes.
The virulence plasmid pYVe of Yersinia enterocolitica codes for the production of the outer membrane protein YadA and the secretion of several proteins, called Yops, which may protect this bacterium against killing by human granulocytes. Granulocytes kill ingested microorganisms by oxygen-dependent and oxygen-independent mechanisms, the latter including antimicrobial polypeptides. The aim of th...
متن کاملEvaluation of the pathogenic potential, antimicrobial susceptibility, and genomic relations of Yersinia enterocolitica strains from food and human origin.
Yersinia enterocolitica is a food-borne pathogen that causes gastroenteritis with occasional postinfection sequels. This study was aimed to determinate the pathogenic potential, antimicrobial susceptibility, and genomic relationships of Y. enterocolitica strains of different bioserotypes (B/O) isolated from foods and human samples in San Luis, Argentina. Strains obtained by culture were biosero...
